# About Remote SIM Provisioning

Remote SIM provisioning allows you to alter the configuration of a SIM card through commands over the wireless network. For example, this enables you to switch to another network operator without having to change the physical SIM-card in your device.

## KPN RSP Gateway

If you are a KPN remote SIM provisioning customer, the KPN RSP Gateway allows you to command your RSP SIMs through APIs. We identify two types of customer scenarios:

1. KPN provides RSP SIMs with a bootstrap profile from KPN - full access possible.
2. KPN only provides virtual profiles for non-KPN RSP SIMs - only access to profile management.
